His life story

The late Major Nati Alfasi

The late Nati David Alfasi was born and raised in Migdal Hamek, son of Lahadva and Maimon, elder brother of Neve Yarin and Shira. A devoted husband to Shahar and a loving father to Eitan Yosef.

From a young age, Nati knew that he wanted to contribute to the country and the homeland, and in preparation for this already in the 9th grade, he joined the Afarei program for combat fitness. Nati started his military career at the age of 15 when he chose to leave the comfort of home and go to a military boarding school.

Throughout the years at the boarding school, Nati stood out very much in his leadership qualities, Nati knew how to inspire and motivate the trainees for various activities, Nati graduated as the company’s best and won the gold pin.

In November 2014, Nati enlisted in the Parachute Brigade, Battalion 202, where he completed a combat course and served in all command positions from M.A.C. to his last position as Chief of Staff. Nati was a man of people and a man of giving, Nati was a commander admired by his subordinates and a role model for learning and imitation by his fellow members of the unit, marked by his commanders for promotion, and before the age of 26 he was already appointed to the position of the general

Nati and Shahar met during their training in the combat officers course and in
October 2019 got engaged.
Immediately after the marriage proposal and during the preparations Nati was found suitable for bone marrow donation. Because of his contribution, Nati saved a young woman, a mother of three children who got sick for the second time, Nati is the only one who is fully matched
and he saved her life.

His subordinates tell of years of knowledge and knew all the soldiers in the regiment, Nati expressed interest in the personal and professional situation of the soldiers in the regiment and knew how to support and help soldiers who had difficulties in the regiment and help them finish their military service in the most appropriate way.

At the end of August 2023 Nati finished his position and went on vacation before the start of studies.

On the seventh of October during the holiday vacation with his family in Afula, a brutal and terrible attack broke out on the State of Israel. Nati, who was not on duty left everything, equipped himself with equipment and weapons and from there went down south and joined the fighting.

Nati took personally what happened in October and kept saying that he is the army, and he is the one who should return the abductees and restore security to the residents of the State of Israel.

Nati fought bravely and courageously throughout the entire fight.

On 22.1.2024, he fell in the battle in Khan Yunis from anti-tank fire on a house where he was staying during the attack. Nati left a lot of broken hearts but left a great legacy and a great light to continue his path and his commemoration

An annual text he wrote to his subordinates at the end of a route:
“The commander must always know that he is not a commander by virtue of his ranks, training or powers. He is not a commander only by virtue of his personal abilities or by virtue of his tremendous talent. A commander will always be a commander by virtue of his men, in the name that his subordinates see fit to lead them and lead them forward, for a common goal.” His relatives work to commemorate him every day.
As part of his commemoration, we established an association – “Be a Nati”. Its purpose is to continue spreading the
light of our Nati.
Helping bereaved families who are unable to commemorate their loved one, many volunteers, reducing social gaps and above all uniting our nation – the thing that was so important to him.
Be Nati – be better.
